What’s the meaning of a child running, jumping? How does he feel when he pushes falls, hides, builds his hole?

During the early years of life, every child uses his body to enter into relationships with the whole world.

Psychomotricity is the original way in which each child expresses himself using movement and action; it is an invitation to understand what he wants to tell us about himself by the way he plays.

The teacher of Psycomotricity is able to understand the game language; he has the only aim to offer a space in which children can express themselves through relationships and movements and this position gives him the ability to provide adequate responses according to the deep expressed needs.

The Latins said: "Mens Sana in corpore sano". (Healty mind in healty body)

Curiosity and imagination are the first weapons a child has to explore the world, his body instead is the means, in short, the centrality of movement in growth.

This project will give children the opportunity to experience first hand how our food is grown.

They will learn the basic needs of plants and lots of useful information about vegetables, while practicing collaboration, problem solving and other important life skills.

Cultivating a vegetable garden leads to better eating habits; even if you can't stand peas, tasting sweet fresh peas that you've just harvested yourself, will most probably change your mind!

Smile provides, in its educational path, weekly or monthly outings to discover the neighborhood and its green spaces.

The dance course is based on the principles of classical dance, supporting the potential of each child, in a creative and NON-competitive environment.

This course was born from the idea of taking dance at such a young age out of the dance school both in terms of method and environment.
During the lesson, the children learn the technique (steps, positions of the arms and legs.), experimenting with elements of improvisation and creation of their OWN DANCE.

The lesson follows three essential parts:
Study of the technique: warm-up, foot and arm positions, small steps ...
Free moment: the positions, turns, jumps through improvisation and imagination become the CREATION OF YOUR OWN DANCE
Wild dance: elements of modern dance

Making music does not simply mean singing, playing or hitting the body or an instrument.
Making music is, as the word "Musiké" says, the art of the Muses, an art that involves all the senses.

Children in Smile learn music by immersion, not by traditional frontal instruction. The little ones are immersed in music by listening to the music of various kinds, with singing, with silence, the body, colours, images, dance, materials of various kinds.

The children are all involved with great attention and respect for the times of each of them, trying to stimulate the timidest to play the drum loudly, the most energetic to listen to the light sound of the Confetto Fairy.

Music is experienced as a support tool for the different cognitive areas and with a clear goal: to make children passionate about music by bringing out the musicality of each of them.

They will not become musicians, perhaps, but they will certainly be great fans.

Art and creativity are fundamental in the development and in the daily life of the child, helping him to create his own concepts, to solve problems in a different and innovative way, to learn and get in touch with the sensitivity of others.

Creativity is a safe method for the physical, cognitive, emotional-affective development of the child during the first and second childhood.

Raising children's awareness of art is one of Smile's cornerstones, which is why, throughout the year, trips to art exhibitions and museums are organized.

School without walls

To guarantee a School without Walls, we ensure that all of our children, from Kindergarten on, make weekly field trips to cultural places and educational value that add context and content to their units of study while bringing theory to life maintaining an urban vegetable garden near the school.

Local experts in fields, from arts to nature, make classroom visits and host students in their workplaces to doing workshops and help them with our curriculum or projects.

Individual passions are seeded and developed for each child as they to understand how to navigate their city and primary research sources, to get the very best out of their surroundings.

Our goal is that children develop the tools to make positive, respectful and indelible connection with the world and the classroom is everywhere we go!

Arts not only enrich our lives but are critical to an understanding of global cultures and the common themes that unite societies. We recognise that arts are a medium of inquiry and provide opportunities for learning, communication and expression.

Learning about and through arts is fundamental to developing the whole child, promoting creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving skills and social interactions.
